Job Type Full-time Number of hires for this role 1 Qualifications High school or equivalent (Preferred) Full Job Description Activity Assistant Maristhill is seeking a creative, energetic person who is passionate about elder care to join our Activities Team!! The position is full-time, 32 hours per week working Tuesday through Saturday. POSITION SUMMARY: Participates in the program development of relevant and purposeful activities to meet the psychological, physical, and social needs of residents. Evaluates the needs/goals and treatment plan of residents under supervision of the Activities Director. Assists in the preparation, set-up, and clean-up of activity functions. Accompanies residents to special events and trips outside the facility. Assists in transport of residents to and from activity functions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred. Minimum one-year experience in Activities, Recreation or related field. Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends. Ability to interact effectively with residents, their families, visitors, and other staff members. Genuine desire to work with older adults. Understanding of the needs of the geriatric population. Strong computer skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
