Description
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott residents young and old are invited to cast out a line for a good cause on Saturday at the Dennis Muise Flounder & Skate Tournament.
The tournament is in memory of Muise, a longtime member of the Swampscott Yacht Club who was a very active member and volunteered his time whenever asked. He loved to fish and loved to participate in the clubs' fishing tournaments.
Money raised will go toward a donation to the American Cancer Society.
The event is part of this weekend's Swampscott Harbor Fest.
The tournament runs on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon with registration at 7:30 a.m. and weigh-in for potential winners at 12:15.
Entry fee for adults is $15 with kids under 12 free. Five dollars from every entry will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
There will be a kids and adults (13-and-over) division with awards for the largest flounder and skate in each division. Hot dogs, chips and soft drinks will be served upstairs during the awards ceremony.
