MILWAUKEE, WI — A Milwaukee man was charged in connection with a shooting that killed a 14-year-old girl, a complaint from the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office showed. Tommorrow Brumfield, 14, died of an apparent homicide in the 8100 block of West Villard Avenue on June 13, a report from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office showed. Douglas Damon, 29, was charged with second-degree reckless homicide, court records showed. The court set his bail at $10,000. The man drove Brumfield to a nail salon ahead of her 8th grade graduation, the complaint said. Douglas' nephew told police the girl was playing with a toy BB gun when the man put a real gun to her head. The nephew heard a "big boom" and saw Brumfield was shot, the complaint said. After the gun went off, Douglas started crying. A relative told police that Douglas said the shooting was an accident, while other people inside the house asked "What's going on?" and "Why did he do it?" the complaint said. "I don't know what happened, it was an accident," he said. Douglas and Brumfield knew each other for a long time, a relative told police in the complaint. She also had a toy BB gun she liked to play with and point at others, the relative said. The man was known to carry a gun as well, the relative told police in the complaint. On the day Brumfield was shot, police found a toy BB gun on her body.
