SILVER SPRING, VA — Montgomery County Police are investigating three thefts from vehicle incidents that occurred between June 5 and June 11 in the Silver Spring area, according to the weekly police report. Between 3 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., on June 8, someone forced their way into a vehicle in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road and removed property, according to police. No suspects were identified. Between June 5 and June 9, property and vehicle parts were taken by force from two vehicles parked in the 1700 block of Mount Pisgah Lane and one vehicle parked in the 11200 block of Columbia Pike, according to the report. A theft of property from a vehicle also occurred in the early morning hours of June 6, in the 13400 block of Shady Knoll Drive. In this case, police say the victim/witness identified the thief as a "male," but no other identifying features were reported. Property and vehicle parts were taken from the following streets between June 4 and June 9: Pennydog LaneLuzerne AvenueHildarose DriveWarren StreetLockwood DriveStewart LaneColumbia PikeNo suspects were identified in any of the above cases, according to police. MCP recommends that residents should take steps to protect themselves from theft by removing all personal property from their vehicles and locking their vehicle doors.
