Diya Daruka to compete for Northeast Regional Youth of the Year Title

Milford, CT, June 21, 2022: Diya Daruka is Connecticut's Youth of the Year, as named by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. On Thursday, June 23, Daruka will join other state Youth of the Year to vie for the Northeast Regional title portion of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Youth of the Year at Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers in New York City. The five finalists, along with the National Military Youth of the Year, will advance to the National Youth of the Year event in Los Angeles in October 2022, to vie for the title of Boys & Girls Clubs of America's National Youth of the Year. The National Youth of the Year receives an additional scholarship of $50,000 and a brand-new Toyota Corolla. Daruka is the Class of 2022 Valedictorian, graduating from Jonathan Law High School with a 4.9 GPA and will be double majoring this Fall at Duke University in Data Science and Economics, with a concentration in Finance. Founded in 1947 as Boys & Girls Clubs of America's premier youth recognition program, the Youth of the Year recognizes outstanding contributions to a member's family, school, community, and Boys & Girls Club.
