PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton's Municipal Engineer Deanna Stockton will be honored with the Outstanding Public Service P.E. Award by the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers on Wednesday. Stockton, who is also Deputy Administrator of the Engineering and Infrastructure Operations Department, has spent 17 years in Princeton, leading design and construction projects including the Stony Brook Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridges and Pathways, Bank Street and Nassau Street (NJSH 27) Streetscape Reconstruction, and the Mary Moss Playground Renovation. She has been involved with the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers for more than 10 years. "It's a great honor to be recognized by my peers in the Engineering Society for the contributions made to municipal engineering," Stockton said in a statement. "I've benefitted from excellent mentoring, and I continue that teaching with my staff as we work to enhance the quality of life in Princeton." Stockton leads her department in the review and inspection of land development projects and single-family home applications. She oversees the municipal transit system and parking department, the Public Works Department; manages the municipal stormwater permit; and oversees the Sewer Division. "Deanna's award is well deserved. The broad array of projects she manages day-to-day are difficult and challenging," Municipal Administrator Bernie Hvozdovic said. "Her promotion last year to Deputy Administrator of the Engineering and Infrastructure Operations Department was recognition of the high level of public service she provides and the significant value she brings to the Municipality of Princeton."
