Hello and happy Wednesday! I'm back in your inbox this warm morning with everything you need to know about what's happening in town. I'll get right to it. First, today's weather: Partly sunny and pleasant. High: 87 Low: 66. 📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Boulder who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales. I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Boulder Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now. Here are the top three stories in Boulder today: The nationwide lifeguard shortage has been impacting Colorado's public pools this summer, including those here in Boulder. Governor Jared Polis is taking steps to address the ongoing shortage with a three-pronged approach that was announced on Tuesday at Aurora's Central Recreation Center. First, 16- and 17-year-old workers will now have the option to work overtime and earn up to $24 per hour. Gov. Polis will also be implementing a $25,000 grant program that area aquatic centers can apply for and use for its recruiting and retention efforts. Finally, aspiring lifeguards will be paid $1,000 for a week of lifeguard training. The Governor hopes these efforts will help improve the current 57 percent opening rate for the state's public pools. (The Denver Post)After the success of Denver's e-bike rebate program launched earlier this year, Boulder City Council is considering a similar move to incentivize more e-bike purchases in the area. The potential program was discussed at Tuesday's City Council meeting, although details have not yet been determined. If the City uses Denver's program as a model, residents who purchase an e-bike during a certain time period from select local shops would be eligible for a rebate not to exceed the total purchase price. Boulder's transportation staff has reportedly also been researching a similar program that would begin in 2023. (Boulder Daily Camera) Diverse comedic voices will be taking center stage at this year's Boulder Comedy Festival, coming to at six venues in Boulder and Louisville from Jun. 23 through 26. Ticket prices range from $15 to $25 per show, and the final session on Jun. 26 will benefit the LGBTQ resource center Out Boulder County.
