SANTA MONICA, CA — One person was killed early Tuesday morning in a collision with a motorcyclist in Santa Monica, authorities said. The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene, and the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, authorities said. The motorcyclist's condition was not disclosed. The collision closed all lanes of the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway for more than an hour. Officials responded to a call at 3:30 a.m. to the Cloverfield Boulevard on-ramp to the eastbound freeway, the California Highway Patrol said. A motorcyclist collided with a pedestrian walking on the freeway, the CHP said. City News Service contributed to this report.
