MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin temperatures hit triple digits Tuesday as a heat wave scorched the Bay Area, setting records in many areas, the National Weather Service said.
Kentfield recorded a high of 100 degrees Tuesday, according to the NWS, nine degrees below the North Bay town's highest recorded temperature for the day set in 1921.
San Jose Airport and SFO both set new records with temperatures topping out at 102 and 98 degrees.
Elsewhere in the North Bay, Napa State Hospital and downtown Santa Rosa both topped out at 104 degrees.
A slight cooling is expected to start Wednesday.
