"Our Vaccine Task Force has had great success in getting older kids vaccinated, and we are ready to hit the ground running to make sure that we are able to vaccinate as many children in this newly eligible age group as possible." The Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center is operated by Hudson Regional Health Commission and overseen by County Executive Tom DeGise's Vaccine Task Force, which includes representatives from the Hudson County Improvement Authority, the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management, County Department of Roads and Public Property, the Hudson County Schools of Technology and the Hudson County Sheriff's Office. Statewide Statistics, Mandates, And Vaccines Children are less likely to become seriously ill from COVID than adults, but more than 200,000 children nationwide have lost a parent or other in-home caregiver to the virus, statistics show. Over the last week, the state said there were 84 deaths statewide from COVID-19. Earlier this month, federal officials suggested a return to masks in indoor spaces in 13 counties. Around that time, the Trenton schools reinstated their mask mandate. Maplewood Middle School also re-instituted a mandate just for this week.
