ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a fired employee, two youths entering a construction site, fugitives, fireworks, identity theft, sexual assault and parking deck issues. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Fired employee A person who was fired from Napleton Kia, 727 W. Grand Ave., refused to leave about 1:30 p.m. Friday. Police served the person with a no-trespass notice. The person then left. School graffiti Two boys jumped a fence and entered a construction area about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Elementary School, 360 E. Crescent Ave. Police were given video footage of the boys entering. They left before officers arrived. Officers saw graffiti on a wall of one of the rooms in the school. An investigation is pending. Fugitives An officer tried to stop a motorcyclist for having no license plate about 9 p.m. Thursday near Lake and Grand. The rider sped away south on Route 83. He was riding a Honda CBR. He was described as white, 18 to 40 years old, and wearing a white full-face helmet, black gloves, dark gray short-sleeved shirt, light-colored shorts, gray low ankle shoes with white bottoms and black low ankle socks. An officer tried to stop the driver of a Porsche SUV who was wanted by Bloomingdale police on a charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding officers. The driver drove away from Elmhurst officers, last seen heading east on Interstate 290 from St. Charles Road. Elmhurst officers on Saturday found a silver Chevrolet Malibu that was speeding away from Villa Park officers east on North Avenue from Route 83. It was learned an unlocked car, with keys left inside, had been stolen from the 400 block of North Highview Avenue. An investigation is pending. Fireworks Someone lit fireworks on the corner of a front yard and damaged a flower pot on Wednesday or Thursday in the 700 block of South Fairview Avenue. Identity theft A resident in the 500 block of South Holly Avenue told police Thursday that someone used her personal information to file taxes. A resident on Atrium Way told police Saturday that someone claiming to be with Citibank gathered personal information from the resident and gained access to her account, attempting to make a transfer. The account was later closed. The resident lost no money. A resident in the 200 block of East First Street told police Sunday that a suspect used her personal information to open a fraudulent credit card. She closed the account. Converter theft A catalytic converter was stolen Thursday from a Honda CRV in a parking lot at 260 E. Butterfield Road. Sexual assault A woman showed up at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill, on Thursday to report that she was sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend while on a cruise. The U.S. Coast Guard was contacted. It will take over the investigation. Parking deck issues An officer saw that several fire extinguishers were missing or damaged Saturday at the parking deck at 149 N. Addison Ave. Bicycle theft A black and purple bicycle was stolen about 7:30 p.m. June 9 in the 700 block of South Parkside Avenue. It was left unsecured next to a tree. The report was filed Saturday. Custody dispute Police responded to a custody dispute about 12:30 a.m. Monday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. The man told an officer he argued with his child's mother. It never turned physical. The child appeared to be in good health.
