Teens Accused In Multiple Home Invasion Killings In Tucson: Police

TUCSON, AZ — Two Tucson teens are accused of being involved in two deadly home invasions in Tucson last month, according to Tucson police. A third teen is accused of being involved in one of the invasions, and another teen accused of being involved was killed during one of the home invasions. Rene Alejandro Uranga and Luis Isaiah Navarro, both 18, were arrested June 15 on suspicion of armed robbery, kidnapping and felony murder, police said. Navarro and Uranga are both accused of perpetrating home invasion robberies or attempted robberies that resulted in the deaths of Alma Gomez, 40, and Edwin Jonatan Gutierrez, 18, according to police. Gutierrez is suspected of being involved in one of the attempted robberies. Navarro and Uranga are being held in Pima County Jail on $1 million bond. Anyssa Delfina Rios-Sanchez, 19, is accused of being involved in the invasion of Gomez's home, and is also charged with robbery, kidnapping and felony murder, police said. Rios-Sanchez is also being held at the Pima County Jail on $500,000 bond. Uranga and Navarro are accused of forcing their way into Gomez's home in the 100 block of West Kentucky Street around 2 a.m. on May 2, police said. Gomez was shot during the attempted robbery and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Police believe that the teens knew Gomez prior to the home invasion. Uranga and Navarro, along with Gutierrez, are also accused of forcing their way into an apartment at 6300 South Headley Road around 12:30 a.m. on May 20, according to police. Police did not provide specifics, but Gutierrez was shot and killed in the apartment, according to police.
