PHOENIX — A toddler was in critical condition late Monday after he was pulled from a backyard pool in Phoenix, according to reports.
Capt. Evan Gammage of the Phoenix Fire Department told the Arizona Republic family members found the 2-year-old boy in the pool Monday near West Baseline Road and South 27th Avenue. The home is in the Laveen Village section of the city.
The boy was pulled out after being underwater for about two minutes. Parents performed CPR on the boy to revive him, KNXV-TV reported.
Fire crews rushed the boy to a hospital, where he was in critical condition. He was breathing on his own at the hospital.
This was at least the fifth drowning call in the Valley in the last week, the Republic reported.
