Description
I’m putting out feelers to see if we can find a better situation for our bearded dragon. He is 5.5 years old, easy to handle, and pretty chill. His husbandry before he came here was pretty poor, but he’s made huge strides here! He will accept his greens (it took some work) but strongly prefers any kind of bug he can get. He eats Dubias, hornworms, and some other worm varieties depending on what’s at the pet store when we go. Right now we alternate so he gets bugs 3 days per week. He came to us a bit overweight but we aren’t a skilled enough home to have tips for bringing that down.
He will be free and come with his favorite hide/log, but if you want his tank or supplies (~75 gallon long tank with stand, UVB light with bulb, basking/heat light with halogen bulb, huge water/soaking dish, food dish, a few tank decor pieces, etc) we can let those go for 150, or just the tank and stand, heat light, log, food dish, his vitamins and him for 75.
Bearded dragons are NOT easy care animals. He needs a 12 hour UVB light cycle, monitored heat and humidity with a basking side and cool side, daily fresh greens (no lettuce) and vitamins, a variety of live bugs, regular water changes, and his tank cleaned regularly. He also needs regular socializing as he enjoys being handled.
We can deliver or meet within a half hour of Freeport or further for an extra fee. If you are part of a verified rescue (with documentation of nonprofit status), you can have him and his accessories (everything but the UVB, although we have a T5 I’d be potentially willing to throw in) for free.
