Kelsifahr, Inc., a distributor and manufacturer of industrial specialty products located in the Como-University neighborhood in Minneapolis, is currently seeking two (2) full-time, permanent assemblers. No experience necessary, we will train as required. Hours: During the 1 – 2-month initial training period, hours will be 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. with a ½ hour lunch break, Monday through Friday—this is not negotiable. After the successful completion of training, your hours will be somewhat flexible within the hours of 6:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.—if you want to work four 10-hour days, we can accommodate that. We plan our manufacturing volume based on 40 hours per assembler—if you complete your assigned work in fewer than 40 hours, you can head home and still get paid for 40 hours. There may be opportunities for time-and-a-half overtime, depending on our customers’ order volumes. Minimum requirements: Legal to work in the U.S.A.; high-school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent; ability to understand and follow instructions written in English; good hand-eye coordination. Preferences: All other things being equal among applicants, we will give preference to applicants having prior experience assembling electrical products (wire stripping, connector crimping, wire harness assembly, application of heat shrink tubing, use of an ohmmeter, etc.). Compensation: Base pay ranges from $16.50/hr. to $21.00/hr. depending on experience. Paid time off will accrue at 2.67 hours per 80-hour pay period, assuming no overtime worked, (we pay bi-weekly on Fridays) starting on your first day of employment. Upon completion of the initial training period, the successful applicant will receive 80 hours of paid time off. You may carry up to 120 hours of paid time off from year-to-year. We also offer 14 – 16 paid holidays (depending on what day July 4th occurs) per year. The applicants we hire will be awarded a $2,500 signing bonus (pre-tax) to be paid on the third payroll run after their starting dates. Other: We will consider recent high-school graduates who wish to work full-time during the summer months and part-time during the school year if attending a post-secondary school (university, community college, etc.) in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
