Jefferson County is looking for an experienced Custodian responsible for maintaining the building and grounds for the Boettcher Mansion facilities for year-round usage. You will be performing janitorial duties, preventive and scheduled maintenance, building and grounds upkeep, and guest service activities inside and outside the venue. In addition to cleaning tasks, our Custodian supports many other guest service activities inside and outside the venue, such as event setup and breakdown, building and equipment maintenance, lawn care, ice and snow removal, and much more. Follow this link to apply: The Boettcher Mansion provides a rare combination of historic authenticity and modern amenities from its secluded setting inside the Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve in Golden, Colorado, only a half-hour drive west of Denver. Built in 1917 as a summer home and seasonal hunting lodge for Charles Boettcher, the former “Lorraine Lodge” was donated to Jefferson County in the 1970s for public use and enjoyment. In 1984, the Arts and Crafts estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and now serves as Jefferson County Colorado’s premier historic events venue. A division within the Jefferson County Parks department, the Mansion is self-sustaining, supporting itself primarily from event fees. This position operates on a five-day work week (Thursday- Monday) on site with the option to start as early as 6am. Must be able to work weekends and on occasion, able to work nights and some holidays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Building & Grounds Maintenance: -Ensuring consistent quality, safety and total customer satisfaction each day to exceed both the team and guest expectations by paying attention to every detail of the delivery of our services. -Create and maintain a positive and professional environment for both the team and guests. -Respond to building emergency and safety concerns 24/7. -Adapt and reprioritize based on changing operational and event needs. -Manage day-to-day custodial operations by inspecting, cleaning, sanitizing, and reviewing cleaning activities. Preserve safety standards to ensure the safety of our guests and team members. -Perform preventative and scheduled custodial and maintenance activities by routinely observing various locations. -Keep exterior free of debris (branches, pine needles, trash). -Remove snow and ice from walkways, service area and parking lot. -Maintain and protect, the property (internally and externally), furnishings and equipment to ensure they are in excellent condition and for year-round usage. -Responds to work requests. -Order, stock and maintain inventory of products, supplies, materials, and equipment in designated storage areas. Event Set-up & Break down: -Set-up and breakdown furnishing and equipment for activities and events efficiently. Respond to and assist with guest needs and requests. -Remove waste as needed, after events. -Interact and collaborate with all clients, guests, and team members in a friendly, professional manner to contribute to their success. -Perform any other job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimal Qualifications: -High school diploma, equivalent certificate, or higher degree -Three or more years of prior custodial or event venue experience or related experience. -This position requires a variety of physical demands that includes exerting over 100lbs, occasionally 50 to 100 lbs., frequently or up to 20 to 50 lbs. -This is a field position and exposure to various weather conditions can be expected. -Ability to adjust work schedule to coincide with operational and event needs and the ability to work hours in addition to regular business hours, including the occasional nights and holidays.
