TrackGirlz is hosting a FREE powerhouse empowerment workshop in celebration of sisterhood, empowerment, and track and field on Sunday, July 10th, 2022 at 12pm PST. This one of a kind experience will be led by the Founder of TrackGirlz and Team USA Women's Relays Coach, Mechelle Lewis Freeman. In our mission to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, we have partnered with the Eugene/Springfield Branch of the NAACP and the African American Black Student Success Plan to help host this event. 50 middle and high school girls, and the first 10 chaperones to register, will receive complimentary tickets to the July 18th “Women in the Spotlight” session of the World Championships in Eugene, OR! All events contested during that session are women’s events. Once the 10 complimentary chaperone tickets have been exhausted, discounted tickets will be available for purchase for $15. Athlete Village tours will be available to workshop attendees. Two attendees will have the opportunity to represent TrackGirlz in the World Athletics Championships Youth Activation activities on July 15th, 2022. A TrackGirlz transportation grant is available for organizations to attend with a group of girls for both the workshop and the World Athletics Championships session. This event will help build community within the sport and continue to motivate youth to be active, and to realize their full power through the strength, confidence, and character gained through sports participation. Movement and motivation activities will be included. You can also support our workshopz by individually donating. Donating at least $40 enables one girl to attend our workshopz at no cost. Your support helps us achieve having over 50% of participant fees waived, along with contributing toward workshop expenses. About TrackGirlz: TrackGirlz is a 501c3 nonprofit organization empowering girls through track and field, founded by USA Olympic Sprinter & Olympic Relays Coach, Mechelle Lewis Freeman. Our programs include empowerment workshopz and grants that provide girls direct access to mentorship, higher education, and sport in their local communities. Direct mentorship opportunities are provided by women from the TrackGirlz community, including Olympians, elite coaches, and industry leaders.
