The award-winning Merz Trio are known for their passionate, original playing and uniquely artistic programming style. Merz Trio made a sweep of recent chamber awards, taking top prizes at the 2021 Naumburg, 2019 Concert Artists Guild, 2019 Fischoff, and 2018 Chesapeake Competitions. AMF (and Chamber Music Wilmington) artistic director, Oskar Espina-Ruiz, clarinet, joins forces with Merz Trio to present Messiaen’s iconic Quartet for the End of Time, considered to be one the most important of all twentieth-century chamber music compositions.
