Salaam! We’re Maha and Futoon, the president and vice president of the Amnesty Club at Averroes High School, and we’re trying to raise money and awareness for Yemeni children. We feel as if the media doesn’t inform about and cover the crisis enough, so we will. As of now, Yemen is suffering the world's worst humanitarian crisis, and Yemeni children are getting their future’s robbed from them. Around 21-million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, including more than 11-million children. Since the conflict escalated in March 2015, the country has become a living hell for the country's people. Studies show that 12.9-million children are in need of humanitarian assistance, 2-million children are out of school, and 2- million children are internally displaced. Children have no promise of a future. Help us in this battle against injustice–they need you. In the event: We will have guest speakers such as Neda Aldabyani from Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundaton and more from different relief organizations. We will also enjoy food, socialize, fundraise, and most improtantly talk about the importance of the Yemen crisis and raise awarness and money to help the Yemeni children.
