This Foundation and initiative were established since the death of Clayon Jones a.k.a., "Slaughta Tone"
whose life was taken on February 20, 2021, by gun violence in Kingston, Jamaica. Clayon, a successful
entrepreneur, community advocate, philanthropist, dedicated to interpersonal skills development, was
known to be a caring and loving person, with a personal mission to give back to those people in need. A
key component most admired, was Mr. Jones’ unending compassion and benevolence: He believed that
an education is the key to self-confidence, self-growth and that of good citizenship. His mother, a former
educator, also prompted and cemented his belief. With these attributes that were so prominently
demonstrated, it was only fitting that the family -- his sister, his mother,, and
brother, created The Clayon Jones “Slaughta Tone” Educational Benevolent
Foundation, name-sake after his music sensation, and in his honour.
