We want to educate you about wine! Take some quick hour & a half wine courses while tasting new wines and engaging your palate! Join us Monday nights below our store at the Union Block Italian Bistro at The Landing throughout this spring and early summer from 6:30-8:00 as our store manager and resident wine educator, Kyle Knapton, will walk you through 6 wines all while educating to a variety of levels of knowledge from beginner to advanced. Class #1 (May 23rd) - Finger Lakes vs The World: Cabernet Franc Join us as we compare top examples of Cabernet Franc from the FLX and compare it to other regions of the worldWe'll talk about judging quality of wine based on key components when tasting, typical expressions of the Cabernet Franc grape, and what kinds of climates it prefers!Class #2 (June 6th) - Exploring Terroir: Limestone Taste and examine wines from fascinating appellations with limestone soil types and learn why this specific soil is so special for varietals like Pinot Noir and ChardonnayExplore what makes these different regions unique and similar and how these soil types make for some of the highest quality wines in the world!Class #3 (June 20th) - Noble Grape: Sauvignon Blanc Feature Join us to taste 6 exceptional Sauvignon Blancs from around the world as we discuss how winemaking, climate, and soils have an effect on this noble grape variety.Learn about the history of Sauv Blanc, its origins, and what makes this grape so popular for summer sipping!Class #4 (July 11th) - Sake 101 Special guest instructor with the Kobrand Group, Mike Adamczyk, joins us to teach a special seminar all about Sake!Taste 6 premium Japanese Sakes as we learn what it is, how it's made, the varying styles, and quality levels of this growing rice wine.Class #5 (July 25th) - Lesser Known Wines of Summer Rounding out our series, we explore some unknown and exciting wines outside of the more popular varieties that are GREAT for summer!Join us to taste 6 examples and learn about these unusaul grapes and winesEach class costs $20 per seat, and does not include wine glasses; we ask that each student bring 3 of their own wine glasses. Please make sure your glasses are similar in shape and size and preferably have a stem. If you would like to be provided glasses, we have them available upon request to purchase from our store at $6 per glass.
