Press release from the City of Wilmington: June 17, 2022 Real-time traffic and travel map available at City website and at the link below Wilmington's Public Works Department has compiled the attached list of streets on which construction or, maintenance will occur over the next week by the City itself, or by either DelDOT, Delmarva Power, or private contractors. The attached information is for Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24, 2022. The City's website contains a real-time map that is updated daily so you can follow any changes to the weekly schedule caused by weather or other construction-related delays. Public Works Commissioner Kelly Williams said every effort is made to compile the most accurate list each week of street projects that could affect your travel in the City the following week. She cautioned, however, that the time frames for the listed projects could be altered if they are delayed due to factors such as the weather. Italian Festival, Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, Open Streets, Art Fest St. Anthony's Italian Festival, which began Sunday, June 12, continues until Sunday, June 19. Motorists are advised that the section of North Scott Street from West 9th to West 10th streets, will remain closed to vehicular traffic until 5 p.m. on Monday, June 20. During festival hours, the following street closures will be in effect: North Scott Street between West 8th Street and West 11th Street Howland Street between North Scott Street and North Dupont Street West 9th Street between North Lincoln Street and North Dupont Street West 10th Street between North Scott Street and North Dupont Street The remaining 2022 Italian Festival hours are: Friday, June 17: 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18 & Sunday, June 19: 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The 2022 Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, now in its 35th year, continues in Rodney Square through tomorrow, Saturday, June 18. Market Street between 10th and 11th streets remains closed to all vehicular traffic through Sunday morning, June 19, Also, on Friday night, June 17, 10th Street between King Street and Market Street will be closed from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday, June 18 from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. The next Open Streets Wilmington event will be on Saturday, June 25 on New Castle Avenue in Southbridge. The road will be closed to cars from between D and A streets starting at 12 p.m. and continuing until 5 p.m. For more information, click here. On Saturday, June 25, West 9th Street between Tatnall and Shipley streets will be closed to motorists from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Visual Vibe Art Fest, which will take place between noon and 6 p.m. Motorists are further reminded that the Downtown Farmers Market has returned to Rodney Square from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. each Wednesday – rain or shine –through October. For this reason, Market Street between 10th and 11th streets will be closed every Wednesday to vehicle traffic from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. I-95 Restore the Corridor Project Phase Two of the Delaware Department of Transportation's (DelDOT) two-year reconstruction project to refurbish and resurface Interstate 95 that runs through the City of Wilmington is ongoing. Traffic continues to move in both directions on the northbound side of the highway. As part of the continuing Restore the Corridor project, DelDOT reminds motorists that there are now two exits from I-95 Southbound into Wilmington: Exit 7A for downtown Wilmington and Exit 6 for 4th Street. Exit 7B is expected to remain closed for another month. Motorists that need to go out Pennsylvania Avenue or head west on Delaware Avenue should now take Exit 7A, turn left onto Adams Street, and left again onto Delaware Avenue. Ramp Closure DelDOT reminds motorists that the 2nd Street on-ramp to Southbound I-95 will be closed from 9 p.m. tonight, Friday, June 17, until 7 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, June 18. The 2nd Street on-ramp will also be closed next Friday, June 24, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Slow Down in the I-95 Work Zone or Be Ticketed DelDOT and the Delaware State Police remind motorists that the Electronic Speed Camera Safety Program is issuing tickets with fines included if you go over the stated speed limit.
