MANCHESTER, NH — New Hampshire State Police Major Crime and the NH Attorney General's Office are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Manchester on Sunday. According to officials, around 12:15 a.m., 911 received a call about a domestic violence assault in the parking lot near Rite Aide on Mammoth Road in Manchester. Officers were the first to arrive on the scene and were directed to a gray Toyota RAV4 parked in a parking lot. A woman, investigators said, was walking away from the SUV with injuries. Police then began speaking with a man, who was armed and still in the vehicle, who refused to surrender to the officers. "A standoff ensued over an hour and a half," Michael Garrity, communications director for the attorney general's office, said. Just after 2 a.m., Adnan Husejnovic, 33, of Manchester was shot by police. "Initial information indicates that six officers discharged their weapons during the incident," Garrity said, "(by) four Manchester police officers and two New Hampshire state troopers." An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's office to determine Husejnovic's cause and manner of death. No law enforcement officers or private citizens were physically injured during the shooting incident. The names of the officers involved in the incident are being withheld pending the conclusion of a formal interview. Garrity said the initial responding officers did have body cameras, and investigators would be reviewing whether those cameras, as well as cruiser cameras or other video or audio, recorded any portion of the incident. ©Jeffrey Hastings www.frameofmindphoto.com/news
