JOLIET, IL — A 29-year-old Plainfield man suffered serious injuries when his moped was hit by a woman from Texas driving a Ford Focus northbound on Hennepin Drive near Plainfield Road. Joliet police say the collision happened at 6:36 p.m. Sunday.
As the 27-year-old Texas woman was approaching Plainfield Road while driving in the left lane of Hennepin, the Plainfield man on the Genuine motor scooter was northbound on Hennepin in the right lane, Joliet police reports show.

A Joliet Fire Department ambulance rushed the man by ambulance to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center and his injuries are serious.
The driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured.
