You will be working alongside several Journeyman Technicians teaching you: Proper tool usage, body repair, welding, parts replacement, and guidance. Salary: Flat hourly rate with a progressive pay scale Job Type: Full Time Job Description: 1st Class Auto Body is seeking an Apprentice Auto Body Technician. Primary responsibilities include: • Follow all safety and technical guidelines • Basic understanding of autobody fundamentals • Will work side by side with Journeyman Auto Body Technicians • Take direction from the Production Manager and other Body technicians as required • Perform all repairs with the appropriate materials and tools • Check accuracy of parts before vehicles are transported to the paint department • Read work order completely throughout the entire repair process • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Must be at least 18 years of age • Auto body collision repair experience is not required but preferred • Ability to effectively communicate with others • Responsible for taking I-CAR training/schooling through the shop • Team player • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented • Ability to read and understand instruction, written estimates, and work orders • Multi-task and adapt easily to fast-paced environment • Personable and friendly demeanor • As you progress you will need to provide for your own tools as you gain independence and start branching out into your own repair stalls.
