Interior Plant Maintenance Tech: This position will be working throughout the LA and Orange County areas, maintaining the interior plantscaping of our commercial property and residential accounts. Key responsibilities include: * Keeps accounts maintained, consistent with the Rolling Greens aesthetic * Waters plants according to individual needs * Cleans plant leaves to apply moisture and remove dust * Examines plants for insects and disease - consults resources or supervisor to identify problems and determine treatments. * Applies chemical solutions to clean and polish plants, feed plants, kill insects, and treat any disease * Transplants root-bound plants into larger containers * Pinches and prunes stems and leaves to remove dead and diseased leaves, to shape plants and to induce growth * Removes diseased and dying plants from premises and replaces them with healthy plants * Rotates plants as needed to avoid phototropism, the direction of growth to the direction of the light source * Makes recommendations of plant varieties to clients and supervisors * Informs customer of plant care needs and can communicate effectively with them * Effectively presents information and responds to questions and concerns from clients or the general public * Problem solves and makes decisions on the spot without much direction * Builds positive relationships with customers * Communicates with supervisor on a daily basis * Asks for client referrals to increase business * Helps other when needed, even in other departments * Shows financial responsibility with supplies and replacement plants Necessary skills and qualifications * Should have 1-2 years experience caring for interior plants. (The experience doesn't have to be professional. If you care for houseplants successfully, we are willing to train the right person). * While performing the duties of the job, it is required to drive, load car/truck, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel and grasp on a consistent basis. * Must be able to regularly lift and move at least 25 pounds * Must have own car for use on the job with a valid driver's license, clean California DMV record and current insurance * Must be able to read and write instructions, orders, invoices and communicate conversationally in English * Must be self-directed, and reliable to work independently * Must have good customer relations skills.
