Blue Ridge Preservation, Inc of Boone is looking for full-time, year-round Houseman. We are located on the campus of the Art of Living Retreat Center, a year-round retreat and residential housing community. The Houseman position is an essential team member of the Retreat Center as they ensure that guest rooms & workshop venues are properly prepared prior to the arrival and start of scheduled events. Responsibilities include: Assisting with laundry duties (collecting, transporting, loading/unloading washers and dryers, folding, delivering, etc.) Preparation of guest rooms not limited to bed and bath linen delivery, cleaning of rooms as needed. Conducting a thorough inspection of all guest rooms prior to scheduled check ins – identifying issues, reporting them to the appropriate department for correction Ensuring that guest rooms are monitored and updated in Retreat Guru to identify, document and update status of rooms Setup and breakdown of all scheduled event/venue spaces and meeting rooms Maintain inventory of housing and venue supplies & communicate anticipated needs to Leasing Office Manager Stocking & maintaining organized supply rooms with clean linens (sheets, towels, etc.) Other tasks as assigned by Property Manager Qualifications: Previous cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality, or houseman experience a plus Need to possess excellent organizational skills Need to communicate effectively Need to be able to multitask Need to be flexible and possess the ability to prioritize as additional tasks are assigned Possess the ability to carry, lift, move items of 20-50 lbs. This position requires standing and movement during an 8-hour shift Positive attitude & willingness to work in tandem with the hospitality, maintenance, and venue departments Job Type: Full-time. Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings & weekends when necessary. Reports To: Property Manager Pay: $13-$15 hourly - based upon experience Benefits: health insurance after 90 days of continued employment, 401K enrollment after One year of employment.
