We are 4 fellas on the near west side who started up this sea shanty project last year. We are looking to add a couple more voices to get a fuller, Shanty Choir sound. We are informal, and the main goal is to have fun singing these songs, but we do want to play out in the future. Two of us do most of the lead vocal duties, but you'd be encouraged to take the lead on your favorite song if you're comfortable. Or, you can stay on backing vocals. Mostly acapella. We have some guitar accompaniment on some songs, and a percussionist to drive the beat. No egos! No BS! No Drama! This is fun music, and it's a great stress reliever to sing this songs. No Shanty experience necessary. These tunes are really easy to learn. All you need is a voice (but you are welcome to bring an instrument if you'd like) and a desire to have fun.
