Description
Union Carpenter Apprentices start at about $26 per hour (60% of what a Journey-Level Union Carpenter earns per hour), plus benefits for the whole family and structured raises every 6 months during a four-year Apprenticeship. Wondered how to stand out as an applicant for an apprenticeship? Pre-Apprenticeship may be a good option for you. To help Central Oregon contractors hire new Apprentices, the Union Carpenters are offering their Carpenter Trade Preparation program at their Redmond training center. Carpenter Trade Prep (CTP) is a free, three-week Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program registered with the state of Oregon. Hands-on learners thrive in pre-apprenticeship! Through hands-on instruction with tools of the trade, this course will teach you what a Union Carpenter does and prepare you to be a great candidate for Registered Apprenticeship at the Pacific Northwest Carpenters Institute. PNCI has locations in Redmond, Tangent and Portland. Carpenter Trade Prep starts July 11 in Redmond. * The class meets 7am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday, from July 11 - 29. * Books, tools and PPE provided. * The program includes both online learning and hands-on, in-person training. * Participants will earn their OSHA 10 certification. * Must be 18 or older with Driver's License. * Childcare and other support is available for pre-apprentices - your success is our goal. CTP was developed to prepare women and others underrepresented in the construction industry to earn their spot in a Registered Apprenticeship, to start earning and learning. Successful completion of this program is a big step towards your new career as a Union Carpenter, earning a living wage with health benefits for your whole family. Ready to Apply?
