Singer/Songwriter/musician and recording artist/producer is seeking to put together a band of serious musicians, age 45 and up, who still know how to ROCK LIKE HELL. I'm looking for ROCK artists who want to do ORIGINAL TUNES, written by myself and this band once we're assembled and start rehearsing. I have an 80 track ANALOG to DIGITAL studio, gets the best of both worlds being able to record via Mackie mixers (analog). I have pro-level mics, keyboards, tube amps, guitars and basses, and a full set of Yamaha Stage Custom Nouveau drums and 2 sets of Sabian cymbals, with a DW 9000 double pedal. All I need is YOU. I play bass, rhythm guitar and some keyboards (piano, synth and Hammond), can sing upwards of six tracks, lead and backing vocals. Would love to put together a muti-ethnic/racial group, male and female. Vocals are the big thing with me over screamin' guitar solos (although I like them, too, but getting both in one band may be hard to come by). A solid keyboard player and lead guitarist are priorities, I have the drummer from hell (if I can convince him to join up), I would love to do rhythm guitar and co-lead vocals in this band....female vocals are welcome here, and if you can wail on a keyboard or guitar, that's a HUGE plus! DIVERSITY IS WELCOMED HERE and IS RESPECTED and APPRECIATED, and will set us apart from all others. My influences are: ALL DETROIT ROCK (MC5, Seger, Mitch, Frost, Sunday Funnies, Rationals, Alice, all of 'em!), Beatles, Who, Zep, Grand Funk, Cactus, Kinks, James Gang, loads more. There are more, but no room for them here. I have 40+ tunes written already, more in my head that I have to demo. I figure I have three albums worth of music right now that's ready to work up. Solid rhythm player, both electric and acoustic, 6 and 12 string, and play 4 and 8 string bass. I don't have room to rehearse here, with the studio and all, so rehearsal space has to be a consideration, at least primarily. I have a very small PA, enough for moderate volume, but if you have a better one we'll use yours. I'm willing to rent a rehearsal space, as long as everyone shares the cost equally. I'll also entertain someone coming in to stand out front, providing you're a GREAT front-person. I'm very happy to play bass or rhythm and back you up vocally. But, I'm limited as to what I can do/sing playing bass (not all bassists are Macca, Sting or Geddy Lee). I'm also the producer here. I'm very easy to work with, and I LOVE HAVING FUN. If it's not fun, then why bother, right?? It's all about the music with me; when it's time for the red light to come on, it's all business. When we're rehearsing, it's loose and relaxed. No pressure. We can work our asses off and still have a lot of laughs and extreme enjoyment playing music. But, come in PREPARED. Nothing worse than one person in a band who just doesn't "get it", who tries to bluff their way through and thus gives us a half-assed effort. You will be replaced.
