We are temporarily fostering a German Shepherd until a new home can be found. The previous owner passed away. We've had him a little over a month and he's done well. Nice dog, knows some commands, is eager to please. Pretty laid back as far as Shepherds go. He does well on leash, does well on walks, happy to be kenneled when necessary, but loves being part of the gang too. Unfortunately we had an incident when we had some guests over. We think he was just protecting the property as we had previously brought him many places and on outings to meet potential adopters and he did great. I would just keep him, take precautions, and get a trainer but I cannot because the person involved does not want to be around him, understandably. Now that we know of this behavior, maybe another experienced owner can properly handle him. We really like him and want to spare him from the inevitable fate that he is headed towards so we will have to be very selective about where he goes to make sure it will be successful.
