Part-time Handyman for residence of older gentleman

Jobs

Allardt-Tinch Rd near Michigan Avenue, Allardt TN

Description

I would like to hire a handyman part-time for work at my home. I recently moved here and find I have a number of tasks to do that require a handyman who is skilled in basic carpentry (e.g. hanging shelves, towel bars, pictures/mirrors, etc.), plumbing (installing water filters), electric (a plus - I know electric and can teach), and general assistance requiring strength (moving some furniture, boxes, etc.). I am in my 60's and unable to do for myself due to heath, but I have the skills and can mentor/train someone to do the things I need them to do as long as they're open to learning and able to listen and follow directions. I have done this quite a bit before in my previous home - I taught a young man to wire electrical from breaker box to 2nd floor construction project being done by another carpenter, as well as landscaping/planting, etc. If you have the will and some skills, I can teach you more and we both benefit. I would like to hire someone on an hourly basis for an agreed upon hourly compensation. I would likely hire for weekend work (e.g. all day on Saturdays, sometimes a few hours one or more evenings during the week) so this would work well for someone who's already in a full-time job and wants to supplement their income. Please reply back and explain to me what skills you already have, what you want for hourly wage and what your availability is. References as to your work ethic (showing up on time, paying attention and following directions, etc.) are preferable but not absolutely necessary - references for your character would be acceptable as well. Note - I am NOT interested in hiring contracting firms to do work. The work I have to do is ad-hoc and cannot be packaged into "jobs" for a set cost. This is hourly only - please don't contact me offering contracting.
