Description
Our purpose is to create a safe space where inclusive and sustained dialogue can happen among community stakeholders that provides a framework for addressing key issues of concern and align perceptions, experiences, beliefs and common goals to build new or stronger partnerships to combat the impact of stigma related biases.
What to expect:
The conference will bring together individuals such as yourself from all walks of life, faith, and beliefs. Facilitated conversation using breakouts and roundtable discussions on those topics highlighted from recent research reports, statistics, scenarios, and “lived experiences.”
The goal:
• To prioritize actions and develop time-bound action plans, both which would be carried out individually and jointly.
• Establish principles and mechanism for sustained dialogue and action, including ways and means to approach difficult issues.
• Give everyone a chance to be heard in a safe environment.
The reward:
To be a part of a collaborative effort in New Orleans to stand in the gaps for those who has suffered long enough from the affect of stigma and hate. That you’ll be able to say that when the stakes were heightened, and opinions were much different from yours and emotions seemed to have the best of the situations – you buckled down and had those crucial conversations that created a difference in your own backyards.
It’s with deep sincerity and gratitude that I thank you for your continued support and commitment to make the lives of fellow New Oleanders better through shared actions. Refreshments, continental breakfast, lunch and stipends will be furnished for your full day of participation.
