On July 1st, 1976, Tina Turner left Ike after years of abuse. Throughout the following decades, her story of survival and success became legendary. A lesser-known fact about that night is that this monumental act happened in right here in Dallas.
Forty-six years later, domestic violence is still a very real issue. On Friday, July 1st, 2022, join us at the Texas Theatre as we commemorate Tina Turner’s story through a showing of “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” while helping end domestic violence in our own backyard. Proceeds benefit the Family Place.
