Description
Long story, my 2007 Chevy impala had its transmission completely replaced by my husband. It was running kinda of ruff so he got a code reader and reset the TCM and it drove pretty good after that, it did throw a code for the camshaft position sensor and after driving for a 20 mins the check engine light came on and stayed on. I stopped driving it for a few days. When It rained super bad last week or week before and we had flooding in a lot of areas in north spokane, i drove the car to the holiday on division and if anyone knows that area well then they know about the kiddie pool size pot hole on westview going to the holiday and then the just as deep one right at the entrance of the parking lot….yea, well, it was flooded over so it wasn’t even slightly visible and I hit BOTH of them.🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤷♀️ neither hit very softly but she drove all the way up to rite aid by franklin walk in clinic like nothing happened and on way back home, I turned the corner and it said on my display cluster that there was reduced engine power. I pulled over immediately and turned off. Drives slow but when stopped or idling it was shaking and jumbled all over the place. Got the code reader out and it said the throttle body performance was the problem and he has since cleaned out the throttle body and the first camshaft position sensor code was no longer there and he tried doing the throttle body relearn process but can’t complete it because it keeps throwing the reduced engine power message. He said he needs someone with a shop grade scanner tool that’s able to relearn the electronic throttle control process. I know it’s not a big deal to most but I have been without a car since November and it finally got it back and now it’s sitting again 😭 and my husband starts welding school on Monday and will be gone all day long and I have to be able to depend on myself this summer to get children to summer programs and to get food and to just enjoy the days NOT sitting in a tiny apartment driving each other bananas. Funds are limited but there is some. If anyone could be kind enough that has the type of code reader to help fix the problem, it would be literally life saving to us. We dont want to borrow it or anything, we just want the owner of it to do it for us so they could be rest assured that there tool wouldnt in jeopardy to strangers Or if you’re a knowledgeable mechanic and this entire problem/solution isn’t right at all and can provide some direction or advice i would also greatly be appreciative
