Two Day Bench Making Class- July 9th & 10th The two-day class covers in the fundamentals of furniture making, using time-honored joinery, taught in a supportive shop environment with a maximum of 12 women. We will begin building a bench that can be used as seating for up to 2 people or as a small table. -Learn to use traditional woodworking hand tools; chisels, dovetail saws, bench and block planes, drills. -Make mortise and tenon joinery with tusk wedges and foxtail wedges -Develop the skills and understand the process of building furniture with traditional joinery. -The focus of the class is learning joinery and developing hand tool skills. You may not finish the bench in one weekend. You can complete it at home or join another class as an ongoing student. Class fee is $325- plus a $25- materials fee All tools are supplied.
