Come join us for a night of connection, expression, and vibration!Ecstatica is a community event providing a safe space to be yourself without judgement, find presence and oneness, and release the mind from the body. In short - come ready to breath and dance!! First, we unite our mind, body, and breath as Hunter Mason (@mend_n_grow), an Active Release Technique (ART) practitioner, body worker, and health coach, leads us through breath work and meditation. We begin grounded, centered, and intentional. Then, DJ Rooster (@roostergrooves) brings us to life with world music, ethereal house, and mystical beats. Feel the vibration move your soul and express your energy in your own unique way. We come to move, we come to flow, we come to let go. Unleash your inner spirit and be a part of a growing community of people who are connecting through the power of expressive movement. For the seasoned ED goers, feel free to bring your dance paraphernalia (spinning poi, hoops, wands, etc.) - just be mindful of others' space. We hope you leave feeling uplifted, a greater sense of belonging, and deeper love for yourself and others. This event is open to all ages, abilities, and identities, and is a substance-free event. Ecstatic dance is more than dancing - it's a culture and a community of dancers who focus on the feeling of being moved by music, not the moves themselves. There are no rules or styles that define ecstatic dance. In essence, it is simply flowing with the music, listening to your body, releasing judgement and expectations, and finding the joy in expressing yourself through movement. One might even say, accessing ecstasy - through healthy, natural, and authentic means. Do I need experience? New to Ecstatic Dance? That's awesome! We are excited to show you how fun, transformative, and addictive it is. No prior dance experience is required - all you need to do is set the intention to move however your body is being called to move. That's it! What is the music like? Ecstatic dance provides music that is inherently danceable and is derived and inspired by dance rhythms from around the globe. We connect past, present, and future with an eclectic, bass-y mix of electronic and world music, serving up some unique and surprising remixes/mashups that will light you up! What can I expect? Ecstatic dance is an all-inclusive community of accepting, encouraging people where you can feel free to explore what expression means to you and how to let it out. Expect to meet people of all shapes, sizes, ages, abilities, and identities who express themselves in their own unique way. Let that inspire you to be yourself. The community promotes a culture of respect and honoring boundaries, so come prepared to be your highest self. The community does NOT tolerate discrimination, intimidation, or exclusivity. We strive to create a safe, welcoming environment for all bodies and abilities. Please let us know if anything is affecting your experience negatively and we will do our part to remedy it. For attire, dress comfortably in clothing you can move freely in and don't mind getting a little sweaty! And naturally, bring lots of water. Are there any rules? No shoes on the dance floor. Bring socks if you prefer.Talking is discouraged on the dance floor to encourage focus and connection Dancing with others is generally contact-less unless you gain explicit consent from others (i.e., eye contact, body language)Highly sexual contact dancing with others is discouragedNo food, alcohol, or substances.
