Guru Purnima is the annual commemoration of the Guru(teacher) and the commitment and love the Guru brings to sharing his or her wisdom. In the world of Indian Classical Music, this day is celebrated with musical performances and ceremony. For the second time ever, students of SPK Academy of Music from across Northern America are honored to perform for you, to revere and express gratitude to their Guru, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan. This providential evening will feature his students giving three group sitar recitals and three solo recitals, all of Ustadji’s exquisite compositions. We are grateful to our guest artists Shaily Bhandari (Kathak) and Dr. Vijayshri Sharma (Vocal for gracing the occasion with their performances. And we are so fortunate that the evening will conclude with a performance by Ustadji himself. This will be a memorable event. Please do save the date.
