JOB SUMMARY We are immediately looking to hire an experienced Asphalt Paving Machine Operator. We are looking for a skilled person to operate the necessary equipment to complete construction on roads, runways, and residential driveways. Key Duties Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to industry standards, policies, and site procedures to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life Operates machines to spread, smooth, and level asphalt on roadways and residential driveways Understands and executes paving procedures while following instructions to meet the standards of the project. Performs daily safety and maintenance checks Must be able to set screed sensors. Must be able to determine the placement of materials correctly. Responsible for daily maintenance of equipment to remain in proper and safe working order. Responsible for notifying supervisor if equipment needs to be repaired. Visual safety inspection for leaks and damage to the machine before operation. Understand, meet and plan grade cross slope requirements. Understand the head of material for the screed. Setting of flow. Ability to be a leader. Ability to operate equipment holding a straight line. Keep equipment clean. Proper paving speed to match truck delivery. Adjust screed crown and strike off. Understanding methods of paving to prevent segregation. Must be able to work in a team environment safely and successfully. Please reply with your resume and references
