Hello, hello! I'm back in your inbox this morning with the most important things happening in town. First, today's weather: Mostly sunny and hot. High: 97 Low: 81. Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans: Mayor Cantrell and the Office of Youth and Families have announced new mental health initiatives that will help support New Orleans youth and hopefully combat juvenile crime rates. They've partnered with the Children's Bureau of Support to bring trauma informed care to youth connected to the justice system. (Press Release Desk) NOPD began investigating a shooting on the Westbank Expressway on Friday night just before 9 p.m. The shooting had one victim, a woman who was shot once and transported to the hospital for treatment. (WGNO New Orleans) A Gretna man was arrested this week for defrauding Hurricane Ida victims of $32,000 worth in home repairs. His company, Re-Nu-It Restoration, didn't complete repairs despite being paid and was not a licensed contractor in the state of Louisiana. (NOLA.com) Help us make this newsletter better!
