High: 91 Low: 68. Here are the top three stories in Buckhead today: The Atlanta Police Department (APD) is adding bike patrol units in Zone 2, which includes Buckhead, this summer. APD Major Ailen Mitchell reports that a previous bike patrol initiative in the city reduced crime by 30 percent in the region. The newest bike patrols, developed in partnership with MARTA police, will travel through the 28-square-mile Zone 2 in hopes of increasing police visibility and stopping crime before it begins. (WSB Atlanta)"Jersey Shore" is headed down to the Peach State with MTV's upcoming show, "Buckhead Shore." According to MTV, the most recent iteration of the Shore franchise follows a group of longtime friends on their annual lakeside summer vacation in the "Beverly Hills of the South." "Buckhead Shore" premieres this Thursday, Jun. 23 at 9:00 p.m. (Channel Guide Mag) Local law enforcement responded to two separate street racing incidents on Friday night β€” one right here in Buckhead. The first incident took place around 10:00 p.m. at Buford Highway and Lenox Road; the driver eventually got away from police near Powers Ferry Road. A second incident, which took place on Piedmont Avenue and Rock Springs Road, ended with the arrest of the street racing driver and two passengers.
