Description
We need to rehome Gibbs, a 20lb poodle, cairn terrier, schnauzer mix (Shnoodle). If there were only my husband and myself in our home, then we would keep Gibbs.
Gibbs will be two years old in July. Gibbs bit the hand of each of our small children. Once when our 16-month-old tried to take a pillow from Gibbs and another time when our son pulled Gibbs’ collar to move Gibbs. We have hired a professional trainer to work with Gibbs to stop biting and guarding his food. Gibbs is better now. Still, our children come first. We don’t want to take the risk of Gibbs biting a child again. We are looking for a good home for him, either with a single person, or a couple with no children living in the home. Gibbs does well with men.
Gibbs has hypoallergenic soft fur. Most of the time Gibbs is a sweet, friendly, protective dog eager to do tricks, like jumping, for treats. Gibbs is a good running partner and stays close. Gibbs is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. Gibbs recently had a wellness exam at the vet. All of his records are available.
The commands Gibbs knows are:
Sit
Flat (down)
Down (For getting off of the couch)
Crate
Outside
Fetch and give (sometimes you have to trade a treat for Gibbs to give the toy)
Jump (over a stool, with a clicker/pointer)
If you’re interested, please tell us how many people are in your home and if there are young children, if you have dog experience and if you’re able to be active with a dog.
We are including Gibbs’ dog bed, some favorite toys and a muzzle if needed for Gibbs to travel or to be around small kids.
There’s a $100 rehoming fee. Serious inquiries only. You must be ready to adopt Gibbs immediately.
We will arrange a meet and greet to see if there’s a good fit.
