Our Government has enacted social legislation from the beginning, including the restoration of the South, after their dramatic loss, as represented in the movie "Gone With the Wind". I would say that the Democrats, led by FDR, brought about major modern change with his new deal, which benefited millions of American's, who then actually voted the popular president into a forth term. These programs helped to built our hydroelectric projects, bridges like the Great Golden Gate and improve agricultural production, propelling America into a great country which was now strong enough to overcome the horrors of a world War in only four years. Can one imagine where America would be without FDR and his social programs?........I can. "Sprechen Sie Deutsch?"
