Political parties are merely a reflection of the voters they represent. When I was young, congress actually did their job for the most part, believe it or not. They compromised, worked across the aisle and got bills passed. Sadly, the fickle electorate are totally uninterested in functional politics. To them, it is boring, not interesting. So, the madness we see on this site is what the madness has become in Washington. You are my pretenemy, I am yours. As long as you and I are at war with one another, we don't see who our true enemy is. It also makes us rife for takeover by outside agents.
