Drawing and journaling from the perspective of a naturalist will captivate you to learn and observe our living breathing planet. It is a fun and easy hobby which helps relief stress and anxiety while still having fun being part of nature. Eldorado Canyon not only offers stunning vistas of sandstone walls, it is also home to many fascinating and beautiful plants and animals. Join us as we sit alongside South Boulder Creek and learn to draw the native birds, while we take in the sights and sounds of the canyon.
Please arrive a few minutes early, the program will begin promptly at 10:30 am; meet at Eldorado Canyon Visitor Center located at 9 Kneale Road, Eldorado Springs, CO 80025.This program will be for ages 13-up, families welcomedThe program is free, but a valid Colorado State Park's Pass is required to enter and can be purchased at the entrance station or visitor center. The fee is $10 per vehicle.Restrooms are available near visitor center For this program, we will focus on observing local birds who call Eldorado home and how drawing like a naturalist can connect us to nature. Bird pictures and authentic bird feathers will be provided for drawing reference. All levels of artists are welcome, no experience necessaryPlease bring a sketchbook and any writing tools, Park staff will provide pencils and plain sketchbooks for program participants Eldorado staff naturalist, Irlanda will lead the presentation and eventI will send a message to confirm the trip and remind participants to cancel if they can no longer attend, so those on the waitlist can join the walk.
