We invite you FREE & OPEN to join SU-CASA/Open Studio/Greg Mills, Fine Artist/Art Instructor-Educator (email for more details)for a FREE 12-week ART WORKSHOP each Friday from 1-3 PM (see eventbrite recurring dates schedule; however on MAY 27th and JUNE 3rd NO WORKSHOP will be held). FREE art supplies/material and instruction-guidance is included, just bring your imagination and discover/explore your creative art expression and feel free to also engage/exchange cultural conversation/news. Enjoy free light refreshments offered at each Workshop. Each attending participant receive free, 2 canvases and supplies each Workshop and keeps one creative piece of choice and donates the 2nd piece to be included in the curated Opening Day-Afternoon Senior and Community Group Art Exhibition in the theme of “Sankofa” at the event site on June twenty-fourth from one to three P.M. PLEASE NOTE REQUIREMENTS to participate: Protective FACE MASK covering mouth and nose must be worn at all time. PHOTO ID. TEMP. check. Hand sanitizing (available at Workshop site). Adherence to Workshops’ SAFETY POLICIES and PROCEDURES including PHYSICAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES and other requirements during the current or if such global viral pandemic becomes ongoing. OPTIONAL: Each Workshop will be videotaped; advise Workshop Organizer if you prefer to be excluded. Also, feel free to bring a protective covering e.g., apron, old shirt, etc. (although the acrylic paints are non-toxic and washable from the skin and some apparel textiles). The Art Workshops are offered through SU-CASA, a program that is supported by public funds from the NYC City Council in partnership with the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs; the Dept. for the Aging; Lower Manhattan Cultural Council; NYC local Arts Council; Tiger Baron Foundation LMCC and in-kind support from the Materials for the Arts with Greg Mills/Open Studio as SU-CASA Participant-Workshop Organizer. Workshops will cover, instruct and offer guidance on how to basic paint; color theory; collage making; design elements; creating abstracts; imagined self portraits, creating special art expressions and include engaging conversation and social connectivity. (Whether or not you participate in any or all Workshops, we welcome you to attend the public exhibition on June twenty-fourth from one to three P.M. as mentioned above.)
