Description

Cardiovascular diseases, which includes stroke, claims the life of a woman about every 80 seconds, but about 80 percent of cardiovascular diseases may be prevented. Even modest changes to your diet and lifestyle can improve your heart health and lower your risk by as much as 80 percent. Some risk factors you can't do anything about. But others you can treat, manage or control with the help of your healthcare provider. Those you can’t change, like your family history, are still important when assessing your risk for heart disease and stroke. Join us at the American Heart Association offices for breakfast and social time and learn from a heart survivor about risks to our health as women - what we can do to reclaim our health. American Heart Association Speakers: Mel Edwards, SVP Greater Houston Lharissa Jacobs, VP Health Strategies Veronica Sanchez, Senior Director of Healthcare Systems and Community Impact Emily Gordon, Community Impact Director
