THURSDAYS 5-6PMMaking Good in the NeighborhoodJoin us for this workshop series led by local artists, crafters and makers, sharing their knowledge and expertise with our community. From creating plant-based dyes, to nature photography, botanical painting and more! No experience or supplies necessary. This class is for adults. Upcoming workshops:THURSDAY APRIL 14 AND 21 Botanical PrintsIn this workshop we will explore making colorful prints from real plants with the use of a gel plate. In this unique form of printmaking we will learn techniques such as layering color and use of negative and positive space to create eye-catching one of a kind prints. No previous print making experience necessary - this art form is fun and easy for everyone! Led by local Harlem artist, Tom Tarulli. THURSDAY APRIL 28Nature PhotographyLocal photographer, Karen Tweedy-Holmes, will lead this work shop discussing helpful tips and tricks for capturing the beauty of the natural world around us, utilizing the technology available to us. How can we capture in a photo those fleeting moments we see in nature, with fast moving birds, insects and animals, moving light, and more? Karen will speak from her many years of experience and display a number of her photos of the flora and fauna of our city and beyond. THURSDAY MAY 5, 12, AND 19Botanical drawing Kraig Blue, an artist with West Harlem Art fund will be leading this series of workshops in botanical drawing.
