Description
We're moving overseas at the last second and need to find a great home for our 3 year-old Formosan Mountain Dog. He was a rescue straight from Taiwan and has been a wonderful, sweet, playful, and loving doggo, and we hate to let him go. He's grown up with our 2 young children and is gentle, yet a little shy. This dog "breed" is known for being super loyal to one or two people, so he'd make a great companion to a loving couple. He aches to chase rabbits and birds, but he can be re-trained to not chase cats, because he came to us that way at 1 year old. He is neutered, microchipped, in great health, and has been kept up to date on all his shots (we have records). He sits quietly at home if asked to, and he absolutely loves to be outside on a walk/run. He will flip his own toys to play with them and entertain himself, if needed, but we've always been home with him. He barks once or twice at the delivery drivers to let us know they're here, so you'll never miss a package if he can hear them. He knows all the basic commands and has really good recall, but he still jumps up to hug people when he greets them, so he'd need training for that if you wish to iron that out. We'd like to see him homed with someone who's interested in this breed, because he's a special and unique dog, not found often here in the US. You'll be invited to join a small community of avid Taiwan Dog owners in the Seattle area who often meet at Marymoor or other dog parks around town. Please contact me ASAP if you're interested in learning more. I'll ask for a rehoming fee, but it will go to the rescue we got him from, and I won't keep any money for him.
