The Children's Policy Council is hosting a Sensory Friendly Movie Event July 23rd, 2022 at Gadsden Premiere Cinemas. This event is for those who have any sort of Special Needs. One Parent and child - when booking your ticket, you are only booking for 2 tickets. Anyone over the 2 tickets can purchase at the event for $6 plus tax. What is Sensory Friendly? It means the lights will only be dimmed, not completely turned down. It means the sound will be a little lower. It means that your little can make noise, get up and walk around, sing, dance, without ANY judgment. It is a safe space where our children with disabilities who may not be able to sit through a whole movie can come and make noises and move about without fear of others judging. The Children's Policy Council of Etowah County will pay for the first 33 Adult/Child combos to see the movie for free! When you sign up, you are signing up for 2 tickets! For Free! You are able to bring other family members for an additional $6 per piece plus tax. Gadsden Premiere Cinemas is also offering specific discounted popcorn/drink combo. The doors will open at Gadsden Premiere Cinemas at 10:30 for a 11am viewing! Upon arrival, you will check in with the Children's Policy Council and receive a wristband which will signify your free tickets! You are then free to get your concessions and extra tickets if need be! We do understand that there is some controversy around this movie. We hope that all families will make decisions for themselves after research. We hope that you will understand that negativity is not needed, as we love all of the children and families we serve.
